Foundation reviews - Part one

Estee Lauder - Double wear foundation

This is by far the best foundation I have ever used, I can not do without now. It boasts amazing full coverage, disguising all blemishes and uneven skin tones. It goes on like silk and blends perfectly leaving no visible lines. It stays put all day and night and doesn't leave your skin feeling oily or clogged. I didn't believe any foundation could work this well and was amazed by the undeniable results, even my husband could tell the difference! £26.50 is a high price tag but considering the results it is a small price to pay in my opinion. This has to be tested to be believed!

Clinique - Redness solutions foundation

Due to having some uneven skin tone including areas of redness this sounded like it could be the answer to my problems....it wasn't. This was one of the worst foundations I have tried, it is too thick, making it hard to blend and leaving your skin gasping for breath. It does not cover ordinary blemishes let alone uneven skin tones. At £22.00 this is a complete waste of money, I have had better foundations at a quarter of that price!

Revlon - PhotoReady foundation
This was very disappointing over all and did not live up to any of it's claims, no flawless skin, no air brushed finish and certainly no full coverage. It was hard to blend and needed several concealers on top to do the job it failed to do. It left me desperate to get home to use a facial scrub to relieve my poor clogged skin of every last greasy bit! £12.99 is much too high a price for a product this poor.

No7 - Skin Illuminater

This was a pleasant surprise, I found it perfect to use as a very light foundation when your skin is clear and you don't need much coverage, especially in the hotter months. It gives your skin a lovely warm glow and catches the light beautifully giving the illusion of a healthy youthful complexion. I used it along with a full coverage concealer where needed, it could also be used as a high lighter although I am yet to try that. I actually wore this on my wedding day and was very pleased with the results, the photos came out well too. At £11.00 this is a bargain especially if you hold off buying it till the No7 £5.00 off vouchers are running.

Clinique -Even better foundation

Another shocker by Clinique, I am rapidly going off this brand. This claims to be a powerful foundation that evens out all skin tones and prevents future uneven tones from developing. It was average at best and only capable of delivering an o.k coverage if used with a trusty concealer. It was thick and hard to blend and failed to even out any uneven areas. My mum tried this one too and ended up having to mix it with her Lancome translucent foundation to get a wearable result out if it. So whether you have old or young skin this doesn't seem to work. £22.00 is once again very over priced.
